Desi Tacos(wheat flour)
Ingredients:
For Taco dough:
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup maida
1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
water to knead dough
1 cup maida

Stuffing Masala:
2 big potatoes
1 tbsp yellow capsicum finely chopped
1 tbsp green capsicum finely chopped
1 tbsp tomato finely chopped
2 tsp black pepper powder
2 tsp italian seasoning
1-2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
200 gms grated mozzarella cheese
tomato sauce
Serve with:
tomato sauce
Recipe:
1. Knead using all the mentioned taco dough ingredients to tight and smooth dough. Cover and keep it aside for 10-15 mins.
2. Boil the potatoes and peel and keep it aside for cooling.
3. Once cooled, grated all the potatoes and put it in the mixing bowl.
4. To this mixing bowl add chopped capsicums and tomatoes too.
5. Add salt, black pepper powder and italian seasoning. Add lemon juice. Mix well and keep it aside.
6. Now take the prepared dough and knead it again for 2-3 more mins. Then make 6 medium size ball and keep it aside.
7. Take one ball, roll out to one medium chapati, as shown below. Not very thin nor very thick.This is for our taco sheets.
8. Repeat the same for all the dough balls. At the same time heat tawa.
9. Place the prepared tac sheets over hot tawa and roast them on both the sides until it is half done. DO NOT roast the roti completely, else cannot be used to shape tacos.
10. Repeat this step for all the prepared taco sheets and keep it aside.
11. Now take one taco sheet at a time. Place it over the wooden stand/plate. Spread the tomato sauce all over the raco sheet
12. Place the grated cheese on half of the taco sheet. Spread the potato stuffing over the cheese. Then finally again add the grated cheese over the potato stuffing.
13. Fold the sheet now to half, taco is ready to be roasted. Repeat the same steps with all the sheets. At the same time place non stick tawa for heating.
14. Place the prepared tacos over the hot tawa and roast both the sides of tacos on low flame.
DO NOT over do the roasting, else it will become brittle.
15. Also remember to roast the bottom of the tacos to by making the tacos stand on tawa.
16. Once Tacos are roasted from all the sides remove it in serving plate.
17. Serve the Hot Tacos with tomato sauce.
